It’s 9AM. My phone rang… “Hello?”, I croaked. Apparently, my voice isn’t that well acquainted with morning calls.

A friend of mine called me and asked about his site – he’s in the Forex market and he wanted to know “How do I do SEO for my site?”

Here’s my answer: “When you want to do SEO, there are basically 2 things you need to do – optimize your own site and create links back to your site.”

“How you optimize your site is to make sure your meta tags have your keywords in them, your web page uses the proper header tags
as well as making sure the title of your site has your keyword in them. That’s the easy part. Next you need to create links back to your site – create articles with EzineArticles, Squidoo, Hub Pages, etc with the proper anchor text to your site and build up the links.”

“But Asher,” he interrupted, “when I did my research, I see that the keyword forex is very aggressive and I don’t think I want to build
that many links to not show up at all in the search engines. How?”

Smart question. Clearly, my friend knew about the common error everyone made – he wanted to win the small battles first instead of trying to be the winner for the hardest keywords on the internet.

“Well, when you do your keyword research, for now, it may not show up. But sooner or later, you will find something that lets you win it.
Aim for the low-hanging fruits first.”

“Thanks man,” my friend said, “by the way, did I just wake you up?”

… he only just realized?

Nevertheless, he was thankful for my advice. He knew me as a person with knowledge about SEO (oh, in case I missed it – SEO means Search Engine Optimization). Here’s what he didn’t know…

I got ALL my knowledge from only ONE site.

I don’t trust any other sites because they don’t know what they’re talking about. I only trust this site.

Here’s something else he didn’t know. I didn’t study this for years – it only took me (I think) 12 days in total time spent over a period of 6 months to get this all in my head.
