Write Blog Posts That Succeed - Not FailDeath of a Blogger

Many bloggers start of with a goal in mind. They believe that they are sharing some great information about something… either themselves or about whatever they are interested in.

Day after day, week after week, they publish great content and constantly update their blog so that people can one day, ONE DAY, find their blog and recognize the talent they have, the true person that they are inside… and maybe, just maybe, they’ll get comments and then the world will know what a great person they are!

After they finish their newest and, what they believe, is the best information – they check in the next day and get disappointed when they see no comments, low views… No one bothered.

So they keep going at it. Making new posts, seeing if anyone responded, checking their stats… until they die of an overdose of statistic checking (figuratively speaking – pun intended).

So how do you avoid dying off as a blogger? Read on.

How To Get Found

According to the numbers in Technorati, by the time you finish writing a blog post, there are possible hundreds or thousands of new blog posts being set up. So how do you compete with them? Instead of hoping that the world will notice you, why not let the world know that you exist?

The world isn’t going to come to you just because you have a blog – you need to spread the word that you have a blog and that people should come to your blog and check out what you’ve got!

Other than telling your friends that you have a blog, you can announce the existence of your blog by using pinging services, submitting your blog to social bookmarking sites (like Digg, StumbleUpon, etc) and also, learning how to use Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for your blog posts.

This will help you to get your blog found.

One tip for your blog, you simply must make use of the meta tags in your blog posts. Search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc look for the keywords and description to display on their search engine results page (SERP). They will aim to serve up the information found in those meta tags first.

There are lots of great products that teach you how to become a professional blogger and they cover specifically on marketing your blog so you are found and also how you can make money with blogs.

How To Get Read

But what if you can get people to find you but you want people to read what you’ve got to say as well? There are a couple of ways…

1. Attention grabbing titles

When your title can grab the attention of your reader, it will encourage him/her to continue reading. If your title was worded in such a way that seizes the attention of the reader, you’ll encourage the reader to continue reading what you have to say.

2. Search engine friendly

If you wrote your blog posts with the right meta tags, you’ll encourage people to read what you’ve got to say. This is because when your page is found on the search engines, the reader will see your title and a little description on the SERP. If the description and the title fits what they’re looking for, there’s a really high possibility they will click and read on to find out if you have the information they need.

There’s another way of getting people to read what you’ve got to say and that’s being an authority/celebrity. When you have that kind of power, people are drawn to you and will want to read your content as well. If you can’t aim to be a celebrity, you can surely aim to be an authority.
