Ever since I was a child, I have been taught that I need to multi-task. That I need to be able to handle multiple tasks at the same time and accomplish them successfully. But according to this report about multi-tasking is counter-productive and several other reports that I’ve read, staying focused on one task is significantly more productive.

If I aim to write 5 articles a day, sometimes, I could end up with low quality work or nothing at all because of the “multi-tasks” and the distractions I have.

Timothy Ferriss became famous for his book on the “4 Hour Work Week” that, interestingly enough, was started on his blog post. How the book – or the post rather – came about was he came across an article that stated multitasking is actually harmful and gets less things done compared to focusing on getting one thing done at a time.

As you are doing your home business, you will be constantly bombarded with distractions like email, checking your stats, reading up new products, finding out the new trends, doing your reviews, getting a new design and the list goes on.
