Home Business Tips: Successful Internet Marketing Step Two
Welcome back, feel free to comment!
After setting your SMARTER goals in the previous tip, I’m going to share with you the next tip for How to have a Successful Home Business! Are you ready? Here we go.
Get Into The Concentration Zone
Timothy Ferriss became famous for his book on the “4 Hour Work Week” that, interestingly enough, was started on his blog post. How the book – or the post rather – came about was he came across an article that stated multitasking is actually harmful and gets less things done compared to focusing on getting one thing done at a time.
As you are doing your home business, you will be constantly bombarded with distractions like email, checking your stats, reading up new products, finding out the new trends, doing your reviews, getting a new design and the list goes on.
It’s extremely easy to be distracted and once you get distracted, it’s been statistically proven that it takes an average of 20 minutes to get back to the “concentration zone” of doing what you were doing originally. Say you were creating a new article and you have a phone call, you pick up the phone call, chat a little bit, put it down and you get back to working on the article. What happens is you’ve lost the train of thought and you’ll need to retrace your steps to find where you last stopped and you might probably need to dig up more resources to create the same original article that you had in mind.
So, do yourself a favor and get to a place or zone that you won’t get distracted. No television around you, you can’t hear the radio, don’t even play the music on your computer (unless you’re an auditory person and music helps you a lot)! Sit down, tune your mind and concentrate on what you want to achieve and then go for it.
Doing that will increase your productivity by leaps and bounds. Here’s a short clip on what Timothy Ferriss shares in his book. Enjoy!
