Home Business Tips: Successful Internet Marketing Step Three
Welcome back, feel free to comment!
Step three has a close relation to the second tip of How to have a Successful Home Business but it’s a topic that deserves it’s own highlight. Let’s do a quick recap – the first tip was about setting goals, the previous tip was about increasing productivity by being focused. The third tip is about the power of focus.
Focus
If you remember watching the video from my last post, you probably can understand how and why it works. Through that quick video, you can understand why outsourcing your work can be more beneficial. When you are doing internet marketing, it’s extremely easy to get distracted by everything that comes your way.
A lot of times, especially for new and budding home business owners, people tend to try doing everything themselves. They try creating their own designs, they try writing all their own content, they try joining lots and lots of social networking and bookmarking sites, they try driving traffic, they try doing a lot of things and in the end, they discover that whatever they did yielded very little results if any at all.
It’s important to understand that as internet marketers, we each have our own strength. When you are doing your home business, you have to discover what it is that you are good at and stick at it. Anything else that you’re not good at, outsource it to someone whose focus is on what you’re not good at. For example, if you want to have an audio telecast but you have a very heavy accent, you probably might want to have the recording outsourced as well so that you don’t lose your existing clients or visitors. If you’re really good at coming up with marketing ideas and traffic but you’re horrid at writing articles because English is not your first language, then it’s probably better off for you to outsource the article writing.
If you think people can’t tell, truth be told, they can. People can tell if a website design was done by a professional or an amateur. People can tell if the copy was done by a professional or if it was an attempt to get dollars from your pocket. People can also tell if you’re really doing a review on a product or product pushing. Stay focused on what you’re good at and get someone else to help you with what you’re not so good at.
You probably heard of a brand known as Hewlett-Packard which sell computers and printers. What you might not know is that HP started off as a company that focused on printers. They quickly rose in rank to become one of the influential players in the printer niche. What happened to them was they saw the potential profit in the computer market and they diverged their efforts to make computers. They diverged to making lots of other products that weren’t their forte. Because of that, they quickly lost their positioning and eventually had to face some very tough times.
Staying focused is exceptionally important.
So, if you want to have a successful home business, stay focused and stick to your goals and what you are good at. Don’t let the distraction of trying to do everything yourself stop you from reaching your goal.
One is too small a number to achieve success.
