Royalty In Your Home Based Business?

Running a home based business can be somewhat akin to a kingdom and starting business owners have to wear many hats in their own online business. The problem that arises from wearing so many hats is an identity crisis. Very often, entrepreneurs get into a state of analysis paralysis because they have too many roles that they want to play.

If you truly want to be successful and not become part of the crowd of failing businesses, then it is absolutely essential that you recognize the role which you play in your own business.

The King

You are the “king“, so to speak, of your own home based business. You need to make the decisions which will affect the outcome of whether your business will be more profitable or not. You need to be a figure of authority and make the decisions for the benefit of your business – even if it’s something that’s not popular.

If you are working by yourself, you’ve got to “order” yourself into producing work to get results. If you have people working under you, you need to decide if the work they produce is good enough for you and if not, what they need to do to improve it. If the design needs improving, you have to order your designer to improve it. Speaking of which…

The Queen

By queen, I’m referring to your business having the required look. A King must have a fitting Queen, or vice versa. Your online business has to look good – and by that, it lies in the design and the overall look of your website. It’s critical that your website looks good and presentable because if it doesn’t, it’s hard for people to take you seriously.

Especially nowadays, people want to see that you’ve got some good design on your site – it doesn’t have to be an award winning design. But it does have to be nice enough that people will want to stick around. As the “queen” of your online business, be sure to take some effort and improve your web site’s design and layout.

The Clown

Now, the clown or the jester is not part of royalty but the reason why you want to wear this hat and play this role, is because it’s a role about entertaining. By entertaining, I mean that people are not bored with what you’ve got to offer and stick around long enough to hear what you’ve got to say.

Music, audio, video, et cetera are all different aspects of your business that you can apply to entertain your prospects as well as your existing clients. If you can’t entertain, be sure to provide real value so that they stay with you. Always provide real, valuable information so that your prospects and customers will remember you.
